Increase the volume and projection of your buttocks naturally using your own body fat, achieving a curvaceous, harmonious silhouette without implants.
What Is BBL Fat Transfer?
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), also known as gluteal fat grafting or autologous fat transfer, is a surgical procedure that increases the volume, projection, and shape of the buttocks using the patient's own fat. The technique combines the benefits of liposuction from donor areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs with the strategic injection of purified fat into the buttocks.
The process begins with careful fat extraction via high-definition liposuction. The harvested fat undergoes centrifugation and purification to select the highest-quality, most viable adipose cells. It is then injected across multiple planes and layers of the buttock, following a personalised design that respects each patient's anatomy.
The result is a completely natural buttock augmentation — both to the touch and visually — since autologous tissue is used throughout. Additionally, liposuction of the donor areas slims the overall body contour, achieving a comprehensive remodelling effect that enhances the waist and defines the silhouette harmoniously.
Benefits of BBL Fat Transfer
100% Natural Result
Using your own body fat, the buttocks acquire a completely natural volume and texture, free from the rigidity associated with synthetic implants.
Dual Body Benefit
Liposuction of the donor areas slims the waist, abdomen, and flanks, achieving comprehensive silhouette remodelling in a single procedure.
Full Biocompatibility
Because autologous tissue is used, the risk of rejection or allergic reactions associated with synthetic materials or implants is eliminated.
Personalised Contour
The surgeon can sculpt volume, projection, and shape with precision, adapting the result to each patient's unique proportions.
Who Is This Procedure For?
- Individuals who wish to increase the volume and projection of their buttocks naturally, without implants.
- Patients with sufficient available body fat in donor areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs to carry out the transfer.
- Those seeking to improve the waist-to-hip ratio to achieve a more curvaceous and defined silhouette.
- Individuals with stable body weight and good general health, over 18 years of age and non-smokers.
- Patients who prefer a dual result: simultaneous gluteal augmentation and body slimming in a single procedure.

Risks and Safety of BBL Fat Transfer
Every surgical procedure, however minimally invasive, carries risks. We explain them transparently so you can make a fully informed decision. At NATURAL FIT® Body Contouring we apply the strictest protocols to minimise them as much as possible.
Pulmonary Fat Embolism
A serious but preventable complication. Exclusively subcutaneous injection with ultrasound guidance virtually eliminates this risk, in accordance with the Multi-Society Task Force guidelines.
Partial Fat Reabsorption
Between 20% and 40% of the injected fat is reabsorbed during the first 3–6 months. This is a normal aspect of fat grafting.
Asymmetries
Minor differences between the two sides may result from uneven reabsorption or distribution. These are assessed at 6 months; if significant, a touch-up is performed.
Fat Nodules or Oil Cysts
Small areas where fat does not integrate correctly. These typically resolve on their own; if they persist, they are treated with massage, shock waves, or aspiration.
Haematomas and Seromas
These may occur in the donor areas (abdomen, flanks, back) and the buttocks. The compression garment and lymphatic drainage minimise their occurrence.
Infection
Low risk with strict aseptic protocol and antibiotic prophylaxis.
The Multi-Society Task Force on Gluteal Fat Grafting (ISAPS, ASAPS, ASPS, IFATS, ISPRES) published the international BBL safety guidelines recommending exclusive subcutaneous injection and ultrasound guidance. NATURAL FIT® applies this protocol in every case. Further information is available through SECPRE. View society »
