Faja compresiva 4 semanas. Reincorporación laboral en 2-3 semanas. Cicatriz definitiva visible a los 12 meses.
- Tipos de lifting
- Lifting interno horizontal (cicatriz solo inguinal, flacidez leve-moderada); lifting interno vertical (con extensión vertical interna, flacidez severa post-bariátrica); lifting externo (cicatriz lateral oculta en línea de ropa interior, combinado a veces con body lift completo).
What is a thigh lift?
A thigh lift (also known as cruroplasty) is the plastic surgery procedure that removes excess skin from the thigh, primarily from the inner surface. It is the appropriate solution when the skin has lost its elasticity and will not retract on its own.
Unlike thigh liposculpture, which removes fat using cannulas, a thigh lift excises the surplus skin through an incision concealed within the groin crease. When excess fat and excess skin coexist, both procedures can be performed in a single session.
Types of thigh lift
- Horizontal inner lift: incision only in the groin crease. Indicated for mild to moderate skin laxity.
- Vertical inner lift: groin incision with a vertical extension along the inner thigh. Indicated for severe post-bariatric skin laxity.
- Outer lift: lateral incision concealed along the underwear line. Sometimes combined with a gluteal lift or body lift.
- Cruroplasty + liposculpture: both techniques combined in a single procedure. The most common approach.
The procedure takes between 2 and 3 hours under general anaesthesia in an accredited hospital operating theatre. It is performed as day surgery: patients are discharged the same day after a period of observation.
Thigh lift vs thigh liposculpture
This is the most common question during consultations. Below are the clinical criteria that distinguish one technique from the other.
During the free consultation we assess your individual case. Many patients benefit from combining both techniques (thigh lift + liposculpture) to achieve the desired outcome.
Are you a candidate for a thigh lift?
After significant weight loss
You have lost more than 20 kg and maintained a stable weight for at least 12 months. The skin of the inner thigh has not retracted.
After bariatric surgery
Following gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, or intragastric balloon, with a stable weight. This is the most common indication.
Skin ageing
Patients aged 50–70 with inner thigh skin laxity due to natural collagen and elastin loss.
Genetic skin laxity
A family tendency towards loose skin without prior excess weight. Less frequent, but still an indication for cruroplasty.
How we perform the thigh lift, step by step
We mark the amount of skin to be removed with the patient standing, so the scar lies correctly under tension once they are upright after surgery.
Surgery is performed in an accredited hospital operating theatre with a specialist anaesthetist and full monitoring.
If a fatty component is present, we first perform Vaser liposculpture to reduce volume before excising the skin.
We remove the exact amount of excess skin marked during the pre-operative assessment, using a zero-tension closure technique.
Suturing in three layers (deep, intermediate, and dermal) with absorbable stitches to minimise visible scarring.
Drains for 3–5 days. Compression garment for 4 weeks. Discharge on the same day after a period of observation.
Resultado a 3-6 meses
