Knee Liposculpture in Barcelona
Remove the fat deposits that accumulate around the knees and restore a fluid, defined and aesthetically harmonious leg line.
What is Knee Liposculpture?
Knee liposculpture is a high-precision aesthetic procedure focused on eliminating fat deposits that accumulate on the inner aspect and around the knee joint. This area is one of the most resistant to exercise and diet, and excess volume can significantly affect the overall appearance of the legs, creating a visual heaviness.
The procedure is performed using micro-liposuction techniques with cannulas specifically designed to work in delicate areas near joint structures. The surgeon selectively removes excess fat while respecting the anatomy of the knee, its vascular and neural structures, and achieving a contour that flows naturally from the thigh to the calf.
It is an outpatient procedure performed under local anaesthesia or mild sedation. The procedure is brief and the results are notably transformative: the legs acquire a more streamlined, youthful line, and the knee regains its anatomical definition. It is often combined with thigh or ankle liposculpture in the same session for a comprehensive result.
Benefits
More Streamlined Legs
By removing periarticular fat, the leg line is visually lengthened, creating an effect of greater slenderness and elegance.
Outpatient Procedure
Performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, allowing patients to return home the same day as the procedure.
Combinable with Other Areas
Can be performed alongside thigh or ankle liposculpture in the same session for a comprehensive, proportionate result.
Greater Comfort
Reducing volume around the knee improves comfort when walking and allows the patient to wear clothing that was previously uncomfortable.
Who is this procedure for?
- Patients with fat deposits around the knees that do not disappear with exercise or diet.
- Patients who feel their knees appear bulky or disproportionate relative to the rest of their leg.
- Patients with good muscle tone and elastic skin who are seeking a more defined finish around the knee area.
- Those who wish to improve the overall aesthetics of their legs as a complement to other liposculpture procedures.
Risks and safety of knee liposculpture
Every surgical procedure, however minimally invasive, carries risks. We explain them transparently so you can make a fully informed decision. At NATURAL FIT Body Contouring® we apply the strictest protocols to minimise them as much as possible.
Bruising and seromas
Accumulation of blood or fluid in the treated area. The compression garment and lymphatic drainage minimise their occurrence; when they do occur, they are resolved with medical management.
Contour irregularities
Minor asymmetries or skin undulations may appear in some cases. The Vaser and PAL Microaire technique significantly reduces this risk, though it cannot be eliminated entirely.
Sensitivity changes
It is common to experience numbness, tingling or hypersensitivity in the treated area for weeks or months. Normal sensitivity returns progressively.
Infection
Low risk thanks to strict aseptic protocol and antibiotic prophylaxis. Warning signs (fever, redness, increasing pain) are monitored at follow-up appointments.
Venous thrombosis
Infrequent but serious risk. Prevented with compression stockings, heparin prophylaxis when indicated, and early mobilisation within the first 24 hours.
Scarring
2–3 mm incisions heal very well in the majority of skin types. In skin prone to keloids or hypertrophy, this is assessed beforehand and the post-operative plan is adjusted accordingly.
According to the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE), liposculpture is one of the most frequently performed aesthetic procedures in Spain and presents a very high safety profile when carried out by a board-certified plastic surgeon in an accredited hospital setting, respecting safe extraction volumes.
