Ankle and Calf Liposculpture in Barcelona
Slim the lower portion of your legs by removing accumulated fat from the ankles and calves, achieving a finer, more defined, and proportionate contour.
What Is Ankle and Calf Liposculpture?
Ankle and calf liposculpture is a specialised procedure designed to address one of the most complex areas of the body in terms of aesthetic surgery. Fat accumulation in the ankle and calf region can create a columnar leg appearance with no visible definition between the calf and the foot — a condition colloquially known as "cankles".
This procedure requires an extremely precise technique due to the proximity of important vascular, nervous, and tendinous structures. Our surgeons use specialised microcannulas and advanced tumescent techniques that allow safe work in this delicate area, removing excess subcutaneous fat without compromising the underlying structures.
The result is a remarkable transformation in the appearance of the legs: the ankles recover their anatomical definition, the transition between the calf and the foot becomes visible, and the lower leg acquires a more slender, feminine shape. Patients report not only a significant aesthetic improvement but also greater comfort when wearing certain types of footwear and renewed confidence when showing their legs.
Benefits
Defined Ankles
Restores the anatomical definition of the ankle, eliminating the columnar appearance and creating an elegant transition between the leg and the foot.
Slimmer Silhouette
The calves acquire a more sculpted and proportionate shape, dramatically improving the overall appearance of the legs.
Specialised Technique
Procedure performed with latest-generation microcannulas by surgeons with specific training in this anatomical area.
Greater Confidence
Patients experience a notable improvement in self-esteem, enabling them to dress freely and show their legs without self-consciousness.
Who Is This Procedure For?
- Individuals with thick or undefined ankles due to localised fat accumulation in the area.
- Patients with voluminous calves caused by subcutaneous fat that does not respond to cardiovascular or resistance training.
- Those presenting a columnar leg appearance with no visible transition between the calf and the ankle.
- Patients with stable weight, good venous circulation, and no significant history of vascular problems.
- Individuals wishing to complete a comprehensive leg treatment combined with thigh or knee liposculpture.
Risks and Safety of Ankle and Calf Liposculpture
Every surgical procedure, however minimally invasive, carries risks. We explain them transparently so you can make a fully informed decision. At NATURAL FIT® Body Contouring we apply the strictest protocols to minimise them as much as possible.
Haematomas and Seromas
Accumulation of blood or fluid in the treated area. The compression garment and lymphatic drainage minimise their occurrence; when they develop, they resolve with medical management.
Contour Irregularities
Minor asymmetries or skin undulations may appear in some cases. The Vaser and PAL Microaire technique greatly reduces this risk, though it does not eliminate it entirely.
Sensitivity Changes
It is common to notice numbness, tingling, or hypersensitivity in the treated area for weeks or months. Normal sensation returns progressively.
Infection
Low risk thanks to the strict aseptic protocol and antibiotic prophylaxis. Warning signs (fever, redness, increasing pain) are monitored at follow-up appointments.
Venous Thrombosis
An infrequent but serious risk. We prevent it with compression stockings, heparin prophylaxis when indicated, and early mobilisation from the first 24 hours.
Scarring
The 2–3 mm incisions heal very well in most skin types. In skin prone to keloids or hypertrophy, this is assessed beforehand and the post-operative plan is adjusted accordingly.
According to the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE), liposculpture is one of the most frequently performed aesthetic procedures in Spain and has a very high safety profile when carried out by an accredited plastic surgeon in a hospital setting, respecting safe extraction volumes.
